Open Days are happening at the moment, and I want to pop in and give you a snapshot of the things I think are really important to consider about each of the major universities so that you can make the most of the Open Day and get what you need to make an informed decision about your future.

So why should you consider Monash University? The main aspects I talk about in this episode are:

• The similarities and differences between The University of Melbourne and Monash University, given that they are the two most prestigious universities in Melbourne

• The wide range of courses available at Monash and the sheer number of combinations of courses that you can study as a double degree. Monash also has many courses with double majors and electives you can take from different faculties which allows you to explore different interests within your degree

• How the combination of having midyear intakes for most courses and the range of courses and double degrees makes it easier for students to transfer and gain credit for previous study if they don’t initially get into their preferred course

• How the Monash Guarantee helps students who are disadvantaged in some way or who come from underrepresented schools or communities gain a place at Monash
